Sports are the traditional system followed earlier when there were lesser options to stay fit. There are many forms of sports to stay fit such as football, basketball, badminton, swimming, running, cycling, gymnastics, ballet, tennis, cricket, squash, etc.

    Sports are the traditional system followed earlier when there were lesser options to stay fit. There are many forms of sports to stay fit such as football, basketball, badminton, swimming, running, cycling, gymnastics, ballet, tennis, cricket, squash, etc. These are almost forgotten now or only restricted to school or college going teenagers.

    Adults feel that sports are not meant for them but this is not true. It is a great form of exercise and can be done in a way that you lose weight, stay fit and have loads of fun. Badminton can be played daily with a partner but ensure that you begin with a ten minute stretching routine. If you do not stretch before playing you could pull your shoulder or leg muscles and this could be serious and you might need physiotherapy for a month or so. To avoid all this, ensure you stretch well before starting a match. Tennis is harder than badminton and requires a lot of running around the court. This helps improve leg muscles and makes your legs stronger and leaner.

    Swimming works on the entire body and is the best form of exercise to lose weight evenly all over your body. The amount of energy expended during swimming results in a lot of calories burnt. One hour of swimming twice or thrice a week is enough depending on your body type. Running and walking are also good forms of exercise but walking alone may not make you lose weight. It could be combined with some other form of exercise to make you lose weight. It depends on the amount of time you spend walking to get results. Other interesting and fun ways to lose weight and build body strength are football, throw ball, basket ball and so on.
